I made it! I’ve been cast for Restaurant Tales with the Mankato Mosaic Theatre Company. I’ll be playing Marcie in a play called The Interview. We had our first read-through tonight. It was a lot of fun. I’m getting on very well with my co-stars. It’s a…

Branching Out
It was terribly difficult not to cry after we closed The Absence of a Cello on November 18th. The whole cast and crew were made up of the most wonderful people I’ve ever met. It was a perfect return to the community theatre stage for me. I became good…

Green Room Quotes
Our whole cast has grown so close over the past couple of months. A lot of very funny things get said in the green room, and I thought it would be a shame not to share some of the best ones with you. These happened last night at our second-to-last…

After Party!
The play went off without a hitch last night. There were a few hiccups, but only very minor ones. We’re getting rave reviews on Facebook! The audience was rather small, as I had expected. It was also an older crowd, made up of people who probably remember…

The guy in those two pictures? That’s my boyfriend, Taylor. The first one is just him in his car, holding the huge yarn ball that’s slowly becoming his brand new, handmade scarf. The second picture is the two of us together in a play called The Absence of a Cello. I’m posting this entirely so that I can brag.
Taylor can write and act and sing. He’s got very eclectic taste in everything. He’s sweet and charming. He treats me with chivalry, never letting me open a door or pull out my own chair in a restaurant. His kisses give me butterflies and his voice melts my heart. The cutest thing I’ve ever seen was when he was playing air guitar and dancing whilst singing “My Sherona” during karaoke night at this bar we went to with the rest of the Cello cast. Most girls complain about how they can’t get their guy to dress up? I can’t make Taylor not dress up. Being with him brings a completely different feeling than any other relationship I’ve ever had.
And if he ever finds this post, I’ll never live it down.
Opening
Tonight is opening night. Call is at 5:30, and we take the stage 2 hours later. After all the time we’ve spent rehearsing and beating scenes to death, I think we’re ready. I don’t think I can count how many times we’ve run through the entire play. I can’t…

A Plea for Prayers
If you look at the pictures in a few of my posts, you’ll see a very handsome young man named Taylor. He’s my castmate in The Absence of a Cello, but more than that, he’s my boyfriend. We wouldn’t have met each other without community theatre. Taylor is…
